At 6 and 8 weeks of age, we perform temperament and conformation tests. The puppy temperament test was designed to help us in the placement process by predicting adult temperament. The temperament test evaluates several components. These components include, socializing with people, curiosity, degree of dominance, physical energy and reactions to external stimulus. The test results are combined with daily observations of the puppy and enable us to identify the right puppy for the right new family. Each puppy, like owner, is an individual and has a personality of its own.
We evaluate our puppies for conformation and show qualities. Show qualities include, willingness to work, conformation and that indescribable IT factor. After the 6 and 8 week conformation and temperament evaluations, we assign an AKC registration level to the puppy.
