No breeder can guarantee that all puppies produced will be free of genetically inherited conditions. We only use stud dogs and bitches that have been tested and cleared of genetic problems in our breeding program. These tests are used to determine that the sire and dam are unaffected by hip and elbow dysplasia and inherited eye problems. This stringent testing is indicative of our commitment to responsible breeding.
After screening for dysplasia, tests are evaluated with the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and a rating is assigned. The minimum rating allowed in the breeding program is GOOD. Our Labradors are also screened annually for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) by an ACVO accredited veterinarian and genetically screened for PRA.
All puppies are whelped and raised in our home. After birth, our puppies have a checkup with our veterinarian to ensure their health.
